21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
Washington Dawn

Early morning is usually not a good time for most tourists to visit the Lincoln Memorial. However, this is a good time spot to experience its solemn silence. After sending a friend to the airport for an early flight, I decided to take a walk around there. When I was at the Lincoln Memorial's high platform, I could see the Capitol, Washington Monument, and Memorial in a line. Accompanying the dawn in the sky, the beautiful view shocked me deeply, and I couldn’t help turning on the camera and recording this wonderful moment .
