Under buildings like this in Hong Kong there are always straight lines of water on the pavements. At first I wondered why this is the case, but I realized it was because of the amount of air conditioning vents dripping onto the floor below. The density of life in this city puts existence into perspective. That even the wealthy of this city think that it is normal to live in apartment spaces smaller than mine (and I am a university student) is incomprehensible at first - but once one is immersed in this environment it becomes easy to understand. It is simply a different way of living, fuelled by immersion among a culture and its people rather than one in which personal space is important.
