This photo shows such a quintessential--almost cliche--Venetian scene, which is gondoliers paddling along the Grand Canal with the St. Mark's campanile visible in the background. I continually marvel at the audacity of building such an opulent city on a lagoon, and love how this image represents this boldness while still portraying a stereotypical postcard Venice.
