Veins
As boiling water streams downhill from erupting geysers in Yellowstone, mats of cyanobacteria make their home in seemingly unhospitable conditions. These dazzling filaments reminiscent of blood veins are found near Daisy Geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin. The entire scene here is no larger than a human thumb and can be easily overlooked when overshadowed by great bubbling geysers.
