This is a combination of two pictures I shot of the same bird outside in our backyard on a cloudy day 10/26/2023 shortly before noon. He perched on the stand briefly in the same time sequence while turning its head both directions before flying to the bird feeder. Chickadees don't stay in one spot very long. They are very quick to change positions! Consequently, it required a fast shutter speed. It was also a challenge to get the two poses to fit in a composite for it to look natural. The Chickadees come to our bird feeder year around. I find them to be friendly little wild birds who are also vigilant to be able to survive our cold winters in Wisconsin. I admire their perserverance and I feel rewarded that they allow me to get close to them.
