I captured this image in my first official foray into improving my landscape photography. It was Black Friday morning around dawn when I had the foggy stillness at the William Kirsch Preserve at North Ranch Road to myself—the way I like it. This “tree” which is symbolic of me or a viewer is similar in makeup to the other ones but different too. I see Release when I look at it because I have surrendered to the process of being different and still believing that I have value; not because of anything I inherently do but because of who created me or whomever might be viewing the image.
