With the beginning of Muharram and the days of mourning of Hazrat Seyyed al-Shuhada (AS), people everywhere in Islamic Iran, with different traditions and customs, sit in mourning for the martyrs and Ashura companions of Imam Eshgh. One of these religious and traditional rituals is the torch-lighting ceremony, which is held every year on the eighth, ninth and tenth nights of Muharram al-Haram by Najafis and Karbalais living in Qom. The torches carried in this ceremony are a symbol of the torches that set fire to the tent of Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (AS). The voices of women and children were heard.
