When large community events take place, the Hamer gather in large numbers, sometimes travelling for days to each event. However, as most events are held outdoors, the people will take advantage of every nook and cranny available to sit down, observe and interact with the event. Considering the heat and tough conditions, trees and their branches and shadow are highly sought after.
