First of three guards in this series, confronting the viewer with the question: "What do you choose?" In the context of the series: REFRACTIONS OF DESIRE Desire & Obstacles How you view the world around you influences your choices. Temptations and threats follow each other up. The dual emotional quality of fear and attraction interests me. An obstacle is the unconscious mnemonic of desire. With these photographs I ask the viewer the question: How do you relate to the world around you? Do you allow yourself to be led by fear and thereby impose limitations on yourself? Or do you choose to face your fears and overcome them.
