THE SOCIAL CONSTRUCT OF THE BLACK MAN

The Social Construct of the black man has become apparent now more than it ever has. We notice now that we as black men in America are taught to be forceful, tough, unemotional, rough around the edges. We are also taught to be strong, leaders, protectors, etc. This image is about breaking down the barrier between the characteristics. It's okay to be a tough guy and still show emotion. It's okay to open up, to change the dynamics of what we are told makes us a man.
