In October 2024, I visited Codman Farm in Lincoln, MA. It's the farm where my kids planted a garden many years ago. I like to stop by and visited the animals and the garden now that my children are grown. Several new community gardens had been planted, but were now going to seed. I met a family--a mother and two children were playing. I asked the mom if I could photograph her with her children, and she agreed. Later I sent her digital photos. The garden was overflowing with ragged sunflowers and one remaining pumpkin. The little girl climbed on it and it felt like a good moment to hold onto while the rest was fleeting.
