The Flight of the Bumblebee - Making a Beeline
I've been photographing insects at my rural property for 3 years now and have 3000 images on the internet. This is entirely stalking, pointing, and shooting. I'm not trying to get excellent photos, but rather to identify (through BugGuide.net) all the insects around my place. Rather than a macro lens, I use a 300mm telephoto that only focuses down to 4'. But it lets me get photos from quite a distance. An image with a macro lens could not have taken this photo. Every so often I get lucky with a shot that captures all the key elements of a Beeline & IN FOCUS!
