The Beasts of Flamingo
In the golden glow of dusk, an ancient survivor basks at Flamingo Marina - one of the last strongholds of the American crocodile in Everglades National Park. This magnificent predator, once teetering on the edge of extinction, displays its impressive array of teeth in a primordial pose that reminds us of its prehistoric lineage. These remarkable reptiles have called these waters home for millions of years, and thanks to conservation efforts, they continue to thrill visitors at this remote frontier where freshwater meets the sea.
