Tadpole and springtail, Palominas Arizona
In monsoon season, large persistent puddles form along a dirt road in the San Pedro National Riparian Conservation Area in southern Arizona. If the rain is steady, the puddles are full of spadefoot tadpoles and insect life. In this photo, a tadpole surfaces for air next to a springtail.
