Sundarbans Honey Collectors
Two men collect a honeycomb from a wild beehive. Every spring, honey collectors risk their lives facing Royal Bengal Tigers to collect prized honey in the mangrove forests of the Sundarbans, a 10,000km2 UNESCO protected area, spanning Southwestern Bangladesh and Southeastern India. These men, and all other inhabitants of the area, are at the forefront of climate change, dealing with coastal erosion, increased salinization of water supplies, violent natural disasters and decreasing bee populations, while having very little resources to protect themselves from the impact.
