Son de Negro it is a ritual similar to that of warriors preparing for battle. They are 'negro' dancers who ritualize and recreate the living spaces of the ancient warrior tribes of the Congo, Africa. It is one of the ancestral expressions that arrived many years ago to the Carnival of Barranquilla, thanks to the groups of towns bordering the Canal del Dique, who decided to show beyond the squares and streets of their municipalities the richness of their folklore. There is an undeniable similarity with the series El Llanto, by Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamin, which shows the desperation that besieges those who are plunged into situations of violence.
