Sleeping titans

Magical moment of two sperm whales sleeping vertically next to each other at the depth of 15 meters (50 ft) among Indian Ocean. The strong sunlight at noon time creating incredible sunbeams shining through the deep blue ocean and iluminating these sleeping titans. Although we still don’t know for sure why sperm whales sleep vertically, there are several theories that scientists have come up with. It could be because it makes waking up easier, or because sleeping this way helps them control their breathing. Another possibility is that it’s a way for them to protect themselves from predators or stay safe within a group. Whatever the reason may be, it’s definitely an interesting phenomenon.
