Taken during low light on Weston Beach at Point Lobos. Significant because that is where Edward Weston's ashes are spread and he wrote in his California Daybook in 1930 that he wanted to photograph a rock, as a rock but also as much more than a rock. I was hoping to reflect that spirit with this photograph. It is a combination of upthrusted blue and yellow mudstone.
