Royal Opera House Muscat

The Royal Opera house of Muscat is the most important theatre in Oman and amongst the Gulf countries. Former Omani ruler Sultan Qaboos was a fan of opera and classical music and ordered the construction of the Opera house which was completed in 2011. The building is characterised by the extensive use of Italian marble, and it was designed following a mixed style of Islamic and Italianate architecture.
