Performs ritual rites on the eve of Bengali New Year's Day on the Bank of River the Hoogly. In the month of Mid of April falls Bengali New Year's day. During this day most of Bengali people performs Puja i.e. many ritual rites on the bank of Hoogly River. The River is associated with the Bengali people. From the Birth to Wedding to Death all ritual rite used to perform on the bank of river. Bengali New Year, also known as Pahela Baishakh, celebrates the first day of the Bengali calendar. It also celebrates the agricultural season. In Bengali it is the first day of the Bengali calendar which is also the official calendar of Bangladesh. This festival is celebrated on 15 April in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam (Barak Valley) by Bengalis regardless of religious faith.
