Papuan Cloud
During my trip to the Baliem Valley in Papua, I had the chance to participate in their pig rituals. The Papuans are essentially vegetarians but during the celebration of the pig festival, the whole village gathers around a large oven filled with leaves and vegetables in which a pig is baked and then covered with branches and burning stones. A great smoke then emerges, mimicking a thick white cloud from which the chief emerges.
