In 2015, we brought my grandpa, a retired Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from his house in Manila, Philippines to our house in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Before this time, my grandpa worked tirelessly to take care of this home, and he always made to prepare a room whenever I or my brothers visited Manila. My grandpa passed away at 94 years old in the United States in September 2021, with the promise that we would bring him back home to the Philippines. With multiple travel delays due to COVID-19, we finally arrived in the Philippines in July 2022 with my grandpa's ashes. With only a fan to keep cool and a mosquito net to keep away the bugs, this is my room in my grandfather's house; this is also my home as a Filipino-American.
