Monks at Songzanlin Monastery in Shangri-La city,Yunnan province
The Ganden Songzanlin(Sumtsenling) Monastery, also known as Sungtseling and Guihuasi, is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery situated 5 kilometres from the city of Shangri-La at elevation 3,380 metres in Yunnan province, China This place is called the Little Potala Palace. The two main temples, Zhacang and Jikang, are built on the highest point and are located in the center of the temple. The temple faces south and is a five-story Tibetan-style carved building. The upper floor of the main hall is gilded with copper tiles, and the corners of the hall are covered with animal-shaped eaves, which also has the architectural style of Han-style temples
