Photographing monitor lizards is a big challenge, therefore a carefully hidden remote camera was used so that the reptile was unaware of its presence and thus did not scare off. This enabled me to stay a few meters away so that its natural behavior could be recorded in the Masai Mara. Here the reptile is using its front claws to raise itself for a better view of the environment.
