Mass in a village
Villagers attend a mass in a church at Zengcuo'an, a village with a history of about 800 years, in Xiamen city, Fujian province in Southeast China on Nov 3, 2024. In this village, different religions, including Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity and Confucianism as well as local beliefs, coexist peacefully. According to the white paper China's Policies and Practices on Protecting Freedom of Religious Belief issued by the Chinese Government in April 2018, there are about 6 million Catholics and 38 million Christians in China.
