Mangrove Cuckoo

The Mangrove Cuckoo is one of the shyest and most beautiful birds I’ve ever encountered. It’s challenging to photograph, not only because of the dim light in the mangrove but also because it moves quickly from branch to branch or remains perfectly still in the shadows. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite birds. During my vacation in the Dominican Republic, I was lucky enough to spot it at least once. But that fleeting moment wasn’t enough. I returned several times to the same spot in the mangrove, hoping for another sighting, but it remained elusive. This bird is the kind that leaves you longing for more, making you want to keep searching, even after just one glimpse.
