Look into My Eyes
In Uganda, the Lions have learned to climb trees to get away from the insects. We came across 2 females in a large cactus tree. To watch these large cats, move effortlessly from branch to branch, was amazing. As we came around the corner of the tree, we watched this female looking across the sprawling savannah. Her gaze shifted. Standing in the back of the jeep I was eye to eye with a lioness in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Looking deep into those caramel-colored hypnotic eyes with a fleeting moment of flight, as I knew there would be no chance of a fight, was truly mesmerizing.
