I went to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe in August of 2024 to photograph elephants and lions. In addition to its beautiful landscape, Mana Pools is amazing for photography because you are on foot most of the time. It is much easier to get the ideal angle and it is possible to go deep in the forest where the light is exceptional. Animals there have been used for years to people on foot and are not really bothered as long as you keep your distance and are careful not to disturb them. It was late in the afternoon and the light was incredible. As we were walking back to the vehicle we saw and elephant eating high branches from a tree.
