Layla - Leaving Childhood Things
Layla is 12 and intelligent, aware, independent and becoming an adult in a difficult world. When she comes to my studio she wears her old beat up shoes. Since I often try to tell the stories of the young ladies and their journey growing up, the shoes and the grown up dress add to this narrative.
