France. The lavender in Provence are the most famous in the World. The Valensole plateau, at an altitude of 500 meters is located in the south of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and is the best place to see the lavender. There are several type of lavender and each keeps to its own schedule for the harvest. Lavender, for over a century, has been very important for Provence. Lavander is use for health benefits, disinfectant, deodorant, making perfumes, cosmetics and aromatherapy products.
