Every spring, the bustling town of Barsana comes alive with the colours of *Lathmar Holi*, a festival steeped in love, mischief, and tradition. According to folklore, this light-hearted event reenacts Lord Krishna's visit to Radha's village, where he mocked her and the *gopis* (cowherd females) before being playfully 'chased away' by their sticks (*lathis*). Today, the practice is carried out with enthusiastic fervour, with women wielding ornamental poles and men defending themselves with shields, laughing resounding through the air. Amidst the blasts of coloured powder and rhythmic folk tunes, Lathmar Holi transforms into a living representation of culture, history, and the timeless dance of love and fellowship.
