22nd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Kua Bay sea turtle
The waters on Kua Bay in Hawaii we're fairly calm, so it was time to go snorkeling. As I was swimming along between some large coral formations I caught sight of a couple of grown sea turtle just hanging around feeding on sea moss growing near the bottom. Although I was only snorkeling I spotted a couple of sea turtles swimming around, so I dove under to get a better angle kind a show and get the feel of them swimming through a coral canyon. I was trying to show their world the way they see it.
