Kayaks on the Rack, Waiting for Summer at Norumbega Park in Newton, MA
On my visit to Massachusetts, I visited Norumbega Park, which was founded in 1897. In the 1940s, it was home to the Totem Pole Ballroom, which often featured well known big bands. It was an amusement park, which also offered canoeing and pedal boating on the Charles River. The City of Newton now owns the 13 acre park, and is popular with walkers and joggers. This photo was taken by the Charles River, showing kayaks resting until the spring. I like this simple photograph because the colors of the kayaks match the autumn foliage very nicely.
