Elk lake Resort is located in Central Oregon, 25 miles SW of Bend, OR. At 4,900 ft it has short season, and you can get all kinds of weather...this June day, it was sunny blue skies and crisp at sunrise. As I was part way into the Alpine Loop, I came across a pocket of fog located over the lake and surrounding area. As I entered the mostly asleep resort I noticed the sunrising over the marina and some very colorful kayaks. I quickly maneuvered into position for the shot. I knew the light and the fog may not last.
