Kaparot (‘atonements’).

Kaparot is a ceremony held by religious Jews, on the eve of the day, in which God determines man's fate in the coming year. According to Jewish belief, by rotating a chicken 3 times over a person's head - the sins he had committed in the past year are passed on to the bird, thus releasing him from his sins.
