Juniper Swirl
An old and gnarly Juniper trunk bleached and aged by the sun. This trunk is just off one of the trails on the ranch and could be over a thousand years old. Beautiful to look at and a reminder of how short our individual time on Earth is. Junipers are adapted to hot climates and can shut off sap supply to individual limbs to conserve nutrients and moisture so that the plant can survive droughts and produce seeds to propagate new generations.
