Flea market in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, "Bitaka". Gypsies from all over Bulgaria come here on weekends to sell things they stole or found in dumps. And also things of recently deceased old people, forgotten by their relatives. When old people die and their relatives do not take their things, they invite Gypsies to clean out the house, take everything and free the house from junk. The Gypsies take everything indiscriminately and dump it in a pile on the ground at the flea market, where they sell each item separately for 1-5 euros. Among the piles of junk are old book collections collected over the years, someone's letters carefully kept for many years, and photographs of someone's children and grandchildren from family albums. All this remains lying on the ground as trash because it has no value for this place. I found letters that were dated 1965 in excellent condition. Someone carefully kept them for many years. All this was once the most valuable thing that old people had - their libraries of books that they collected over the years, and memories of long-gone days that now lie under the soles of random passers-by who came to buy something cheap.
