22nd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
i catch it the first

That morning, in the Masai Mara Reserve, a mother cheetah gave a hunting lesson to these 4 1-year-old cubs. She had seen the baby gazelle hiding in a bush. She brought her little ones near the bush. When the gazelle came out of her hiding place, all 4 of them left after her. Like a cat runs after a mouse. Left and right, they let it run out. Until she can't take it anymore. One of the baby cheetahs lay down on her, after letting it run away several times, and was done for her. Mother cheetah supervised the hunt and was very proud of her offspring. She made sure no one came near her little ones and their lunch.
