Broken Now Everlasting, is my depiction of the progression of my relationship with my sister. The images will display the emotional transformation of our relationship. My sister and I are five years apart and growing up we did not have a close relationship due to our age difference. Our distance was created because I rejected her and did not desire her company. I thought she could not understand/relate to me. Because of my rejection, she experienced personal emotional chaos. My stance in our relationship caused much confusion and sadness. As the only child of five years, I was the sole focus of parental attention, and with the birth of a younger sibling the attention was deprived. I became more negative towards my sister. Now, that I am much older and mature, I embrace my sister for our differences, and we have a strong sisterly bond. We communicate, laugh, and hangout with one another. So, my thesis will allow me to capture twenty black and white photographic images that portrays the progression of our relationship. Digital photography will be utilized to tell the story of our relationship, and how it has evolved. Generally, photography helps capture emotions or a single moment. Effort and passion were put forth on this project. I hope that my sincerity is reflected to not only my audience but my sister. Pain can sometimes turn into purpose. This body of work is important because it encourages the viewer to think and analyze their truth with their loved one.
