Hummingbird sipping nectar from a passion flower
Love at first sip. A hummingbird is sipping nectar from a granadilla flower (Passiflora ligularis), as it pollinates the flower with pollen from nearby passiflora flowers. I planted some granadilla plants next to my outdoor dining area with the idea of photographing the pollinators that would be drawn to the flower. Several species of hummers came to partake of the flower's nectar, presenting me with the ideal photographing situation.
