Hoodoos Huddle under the approaching storm
A storm approaches as the blue skies recede as HooDoos line the PeekaBoo trail in Bryce Canyon National Park Utah. HooDoos take many thousands of years to form as the limestone and sandstone strata erode from the actions of wind and rain and freeze and thaw, widening the natural cracks and faults in the sedimentary rock. The colours are laid down in layers as each period deposits various minerals on the lakebed only to be uplifted and carved into what we see today.
