I hate to assume someone is homeless, based on observation. So, this man might not be. But his demeanor, and clothes and meager possessions stuffed in a garden bag, all pointed to it. It was 96 degrees, and he – along with everyone else outside – was sweltering. He was walking round the fountain with his plastic lobster held tight in one hand, then suddenly broke and ran into the center, where he stayed for a moment, washing himself and cooling down.
