This photo was taken during my first trip to my family’s homeland. My great uncle and I don’t speak the same language but we communicated through our deep appreciation for nature, hiking, and exploration. He led me along Dragon’s Back Trail, and at the top of the first peak I saw this panoramic view of the islands of Hong Kong. This was when I really understood the meaning of homeland.
