Hand Woven Baskets, Cherokee, North Carolina
Sustainable travel means supporting the people who live there. Such support involves understanding their story. These baskets were hand-woven by individuals of Cherokee descent at the Oconaluftee Indian Village. Two hundred years ago, their ancestors endured great hardship. Their ancestors are my ancestors, too.
