This black and white image of Half Dome in Yosemite was captured in October of 2024, when the air is starting to chill and the park has a slower fall pace with fewer people. I love the composition and details in the shot. The rock striations are sharp, and the reflection in the water gives a hint of what is above. The clouds were perfect and the water was still. This was the first time I was free to take a fall trip to Yosemite solo, and take my time photographing, having retired a few months earlier. I enjoyed every minute of the trip and took my time composing and re-composing until I was happy with the shot. It was a Tuesday, and I wasn't in the office. It was a good day.
