Guiding Light
Old Baldy, the lighthouse on Bald Head Island, North Carolina has 108 very narrow steps with five landings to reach the top. On the National Register for Historic Places, it is the oldest standing lighthouse in North Carolina. While there are lights in some places along the climb up, many times, the best lighting comes streaming in through the windows. I love how the light highlights the brick and mortar of where the window is recessed and gradually fades out to highlight just the edges of the wood railing.
