On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the coastal fishing villages in Quang Ngai hold traditional boat racing festivals, which have been preserved for hundreds of years. The boat racing festival usually consists of four teams of statue racing for four elves the Dragon ,the Qilin ,the Turtle and the Fenghuang.This is an opportunity for fishermen to have a chance to meet, have fun, build solidarity, together determined to stick to the sea, preserve the traditional fishing ground of their ancestors in Hoang Sa, Truong Sa. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to pray for good weather and wind, the season of sea as well as agriculture is prosperous.
