22nd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Grand Teton Reflections

My husband and I had been told that moose frequented Schwabacher Landing in Grand Teton National Park so we went there the day before in the early morning and again in the evening, waiting patiently as the sun went down but unfortunately the moose eluded us. So we rose early the next day and again waited patiently. With it being our last day in the park we eventually visited other sites. Around 11am we were heading north on 89 and about to go past the landing when we decided to stop even though it was mid-day. Pay dirt. We were blessed to see the moose.
