Aurora in my location is not common. This past year has been very good with the solar maximum approaching. This particular night the aurora was forecast to be strong. I set out to this location hoping it would cooperate and I would be able to get an image close to what was in my mind. Luckily, the aurora did cooperate but only for a few minutes. This was a challenging image to capture as the light pollution from the lights on the wharf was very strong. It was extremely difficult to try to find an exposure that worked. The aurora had to be very strong which only happened for a few minutes. I tried to crop the image to show a sense of scale of the amazing display that night.
