Fisherman's Memorial Statue-Loughran's Point Park

The bronze memorial statue named "Fisherman's Memorial" is of a fisherman holding a lantern facing the ocean as the fishing boats head out to sea.It was dedicated in 2000 on the Point Pleasant Beach side of the Manasquan Inlet. There are 43 plaques for each boat lost in the ocean from 1931 to 1983, engraved with the names of 106 men who lost their lives in this time. That number is disputed by some.
